Q: Is the app free?
Mottie is free to download with a selection of sample picture books included. An optional subscription ("Mottie Premium") unlocks the full library of bilingual picture books with narration and vocabulary.
Q: What languages does the app support?
Mottie's picture books are in English with bilingual translations available in 41 languages including Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, French, German, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, and many more. The app interface also supports 45+ languages.
Q: Does the app work offline?
Yes! All books, narration audio, and vocabulary are bundled with the app and work fully offline. An internet connection is only needed for the initial font loading and subscription purchases.
Q: How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
On iOS: Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. On Android: Go to Google Play → Subscriptions. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Q: How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open a premium book to see the subscription screen, then tap "Restore Purchase" at the bottom. Your subscription is linked to your Apple ID or Google account and will be restored automatically.
Q: Is there a session time limit?
Yes. Parents can set a session time limit (5–60 minutes) in Settings. When time is up, a gentle break screen appears. Only a parent can resume the session by solving a simple math problem (parental gate).
Q: Is my child's data safe?
Absolutely. All data is stored locally on the device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Q: What reading levels are available?
Mottie offers 3 reading levels: ★ (Seeds — simple words, 2–3 years), ★★ (Sprouts — short sentences, 3–4 years), and ★★★ (Blossoms — longer stories, 4–6 years).

Mottie Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription.
- Plans: Monthly ($4.99/month) or Yearly ($39.99/year).
- Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play > Subscriptions on Android).
- Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
