Yohei Ueda ("we", "us", or "our") built Mottie (the "App") as a mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information.
The App does not require account creation, login, or any form of registration. No personal data — such as your name, email address, phone number, or location — is collected, stored, or transmitted.
Locally Stored Data
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Learning progress (books read, words learned, badge achievements)
- App preferences (display language, session time limits, reading level)
- Login streak and reading statistics
- Favorite books list
- Subscription status (encrypted via device Keychain / Keystore)
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. You can delete this data at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — Subscription management and receipt validation. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts from the App Store and Google Play to verify subscriptions. It does not receive personal information from us. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — In-app subscription purchase processing. See Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — Font loading over the internet on first launch. See Google Privacy Policy.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not sell or share personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
Mottie is designed for children and families. Since we do not collect any personal information, the App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations.
The App includes parental controls (session time limits protected by a parental gate) to help caregivers manage usage.
Internet Access
The App may use an internet connection for the following purposes:
- Loading Google Fonts for text display
- Processing subscription purchases via the App Store or Google Play
- Validating subscription receipts via RevenueCat
No personal user data is transmitted during these processes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
